About Us
I guess first off, there is no us. Just Me. My name is Art Wedge.
You could call me the founder, chief of staff or head of
development. When it comes to this site, I'm all of those. I would
just call myself a guy that loves hunting and the great outdoors.
I also thought it would be pretty cool to run a website like the
ones I spend so much time in.
So here it is! I know, it's not very fancy and there are certainly
better looking ones out there. But Hey, I'm not a web designer. I
am, however, very proud of my own little space on the web.
I hope you like it too. |
About Me
I am an avid hunter and outdoorsman. I spend a great deal of my time in the outdoors,
hunting and scouting. I hunt with a gun but my passion is bow hunting. I have been selfemployed for about 15 years as the owner of a carpet cleaning and repair company.
I also own a small video production company that I would love to see take
off. I am married to my wonderful wife Jennifer, who doesn't complain to much
about the time I spend afield. Together we have four of the most wonderful children.

10 or so. My father was kind enough to let me chase after him when he went hunting
in our home state or Virginia. Although I never saw him harvest a deer, the seed was
planted. I have been going back from then on. It was probably around 1991 when Jennifer

and I moved to Wisconsin. Knowing what I had read about the deer there, this wasn't
a hard move to make. It was then I decided to take up bow hunting. Boy did I get
hooked. I probably spent the first two years trying to figure out what it was all about.
Then in 1993 the connection was made. I sent a Muzzy broadhead through my first
Wisconsin whitetail. No, it wasn't one for the record books but was a very respectable
deer. It had 13 points on the ugliest rack you have ever seen. I'll guess it was around
200lbs. dressed weight. The really cool thing was, I had got that same deer a month or so
earlier on video in full velvet. Not bad for my first bow havest, in my mind anyways.
Yes, I hunt gun season and probably always will. Although bow season is what I live for.
About This Site
At first I just wanted to run my own site on the web. Then I got to thinking, what can I do
to make it just a little bit different. One of the things I noticed about many of the sites I
visit is, they all seem to have some kind of Pro Staff writing the articles on their site. Those
articles are usually about some $6000 hunt the sponsors paid for them to go on. Now
don't get me wrong, if I could afford to pay thousands of dollars to hunt trophy animals,
I probably would. The fact is, I have a wife, kids and a full time job. A hunting trip for
me is a few hour drive up north. I'd bet it is the same for many hunters. That is why I
decided to let the members of this site post their own articles, news, recipes and hunting
tips. Yeah, I watch the Outdoor Channel and read alot of articles in the magazines that
come to my home. I think though, instead of reading about a hunt where someone else
did the scouting and stand placement, lets read a few written by the guys that did it all,
using the skills that were handed down to them and the ones they picked up along the way.
Not only do I think this would make for some good reading, but what a
wonderful way for young hunters or guys just starting out to pick up a litle extra
knowledge about the sport we love so much.
I urge anyone who reads this, visit submit articles and tell us about your experience, good
or bad. There are also places to submit news for your state. I will keep the site updated with
this info but I will miss things that you, the readers find interesting. I hope that by doing
this, we will all feel more apart of this site. Maybe, just maybe, some of us will become
better hunters because of it.
Best Regards,
Art Wedge
